The Forgotten Cameras
Welcome to my analogue camera reviews section. My hope is these will inspire you to try out your own forgotten cameras, and re-discover photography as I did. My hopes for this site are to share my love of everything mechanical and of the underdog, the cameras which don’t generate Instagram likes or sit on investors shelves but were the everyday heroes of their time.
There will be no science, no data, other sites do history better – just how the cameras feel, how they inspire creativity and how they fit with a photographers flow. These will be accessible cameras, affordable cameras and forgotten cameras which might just inspire you too.
These reviews aren’t lab tests, just real‑world experiences with forgotten cameras rescued from charity shops, antiques stores and markets with real photos, taken for fun rather than for the review. We’ll cover SLRs, folders, viewfinder cameras, buyers remorse cameras, and everything in between.
It will take me time to add and expand so bear with me and join me on the journey….
